About
Written by someone who's been in the trenches

I'm not a therapist, and this isn't a clinical textbook. I'm Ben DeLoach - a husband of 25+ years, a father, and a teacher. I've had just about every fight you can have in a marriage.
The stupid fight. The money fight. The in-laws fight. The classic "you don't appreciate me" fight. For a long stretch, my wife and I kept circling the same arguments - different words, identical endings - without ever figuring out why.
Why this isn't just theory
Everything in How to Fight With Your Wife was pressure-tested in real life, not in a seminar:
- Decades of a real marriage under real strain.
- Kids, financial stress, job changes, and ministry demands.
- Dozens of counseling conversations with other couples fighting the same fights.
Somewhere in there I stopped trying to win arguments and started learning how to fight in a way that brought us closer. This book is the short version of what took me years to figure out - so it doesn't take you the same years.
What I believe about fighting
Conflict isn't the enemy of a marriage. Avoiding it quietly kills more marriages than the fights themselves. The couples who last aren't the ones who never argue - they're the ones who learned how. You don't need perfection. You need a way to fight that doesn't tear your marriage apart.
